I'm so glad I was able to get it, and even if I wasn’t lucky enough to get a signed one it still means the world to me…

That's one thing I do love about Empire though...everything about it is beautiful in how it sounds AND how it looks...especially with Luke in it *.*

Staci, I must thank you once again for getting me to hurry up and check out Amazon.de!! I don't know what I would have done if I had missed out on the set...especially the vinyl; I play my dad's vinyls on his record player ALL the time. How perfect will it be to have Walking On a Dream a part of the collection!!!
And the fact I might possible receive one of the 10% Luke-signed sets? Amazing, just the thought that Luke had touched it before me and had laid his eyes on it :3

And then there's that Polaroid picture that he took, and it's mine now!! I think I really should pull his DNA from it and clone him. That was an awesome idea Staci XD I was leaning toward environmental science but I will become a biologist and clone the first successful human just to have myself a Luke!!

Yes, definitley clearer on the vinyl. I love vinyls, I play them all the time in my house, mostly the 80s...

Walking On a Dream is my favourite vinyl of all time now :3

Oh Caroline, I'm so, so glad it finally arrived at long last, but I do feel for you and I share your grief in finding it was not a signed copy… My heart fell so far down in my chest that day when I discovered I wasn’t successful, and I bet yours did too… still, on the bright side of things, like you say, you do have that wonderful Polaroid photo that our lovely Luke has held in his hands and that must be just as amazing for you, I know it would be for me…

And I'm glad you're able to listen to the vinyl, everyone says it sounds so different from the CD/digital version… I still have no vinyl player so I cannot experience this for myself but I guess I could always ask Santa for one this year, we'll see!

But like you, when I play the album I too get transported to other-worldly lands, their music is just so amazing and I'm still loving it just as much, probably more, than when I first heard it in the Autumn of 2009… I still can't decide which track is my favourite - it seems to change every time I hear it… my favourites are Walking On A Dream, We Are The People, Tiger By My Side, Without You and Swordfish Hotkiss Night ♥

And yes, my boxset is the most treasured possession that I own too, signed or not
I love looking at it and listening to it so much, it takes pride of place in my bedroom in a prominent position where I can see it constantly when I'm in there!
I know it sounds silly, but whenever I feel low I just like to pick it up and hold it against me and I feel so much better… it's almost like it's healing powers are travelling across the miles to comfort me ♥

I still have no vinyl player so I cannot experience this for myself but I guess I could always ask Santa for one this year, we'll see!

I do believe used record players sell for at least $200 dollars; those would be the older 78 RPM (revolutions per minute). With those you'd prbably need to buy a new needle, which can be $100. The more modern record players run at 33 RPM and/or 45 RPM, and sell for about $500-$1,500. Ouch... but then again the vinyl plays beautifully!

You've got to be really careful when you're putting the needle on; you have to put it in the "lead-in" groove, which is about a 16th of an inch in from the edge. When you're putting it on do it slowly so that you don't scratch anything, or the song is basically ruined right there and the needle gets slightly confused when running. An automatic turntable will automatically move the needle out when the record finishes, which is nice too. Otherwise you do it manually, and carefully, because the needles are fragile

I have my boxset propped up on a bookshelf at the wall opposite my bed so that I can look at it for a little while before I go to sleep ♥ And no not silly, I'm sure it can easily make any Empyrean feel better! It makes me feel warm inside too. ♥

Yes, I got mine this summer, but no signature for me neither, I'm heartbroken to say!

But I love it so much and together with my piece of Luke's guitar and my beautiful smile from Luke, it's my pride and joy ♥
I think it's such an incredible work of art, both artistically and musically ☺
