At 1.00pm EST on 22 July 2009, Empire Of The Sun sent this exclusive broadcast of 6 minutes and 39 seconds in length to soundtrack the longest solar eclipse so far of the 21st century. The eclipse is set to be a total eclipse of the sun and is not predicted to be surpassed for length until the year 2132.

Today the exclusive Empire Of The Sun broadcast will happen shortly after 1pm Australian EST for 6 minutes and 39 seconds, so we can rejoice together in the magic of the eclipse and the music.

Although very rare, it will occur again for 6 minutes and 39 seconds on July 22nd shortly after 1:00pm (Australian EST) where the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century takes place throughout the Asia Pacific region, visible only in Australia from the very tip of far North Queensland.
For 6 minutes and 39 seconds next week, fans and muso’s across the world will get to see and hear a broadcast from Empire of the Sun. Found digitally on the website eclipseofthesun.org , the content will be beamed live from planet earth to their army of followers around the world.
